ONLINE CLASS: Join the brilliant Andrew Smyth (GBBO, series 7) live from his home in Derby, England on Sunday 9th August at 5pm or 7.45pm UK (12pm or 2.45pm New York), who will teach you the skills to make his delicious Millionaire Shortbread!


Combine the crunch of a shortbread base with a gooey caramel middle and chocolate topping and you have millionaire's shortbread – the ultimate sweet treat. We’ll start off the class with an introductory welcome and some background from Andrew's time on TV, before we ask you to put on our aprons & bake along as you watch Andrew demonstrate all the skills required to make this lovely treat.


Our class will take around 1h 45 minutes as we bake our masterpieces, before you can tuck into the fruits of your labour all whilst hearing fantastic memories and stories from Andrew. Tickets are priced at £40 for individuals and £55 for groups of two or more that will join from the same household. Places are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled or altered after purchase.


All classes are subject to a minimum number of six attendees signing up. If the minimum number is not met, we will inform those who have purchased a place no later than 48 hours before the class, and will arrange a full refund.


All guests will be emailed a link to the class following their booking. Please note our classes are very much interactive and are limited to 16 participants. Andrew will ensure he gives you feedback as we go whilst everyone will be encouraged to ask questions.


Equipment Required:

Digital Scales, 20cm/8 inch square loose-bottomed baking tin (or you could use a similar rectangular tin with the same area such as 9 x 7 inch), Large Mixing Bowl, silicone spatula, 2 large saucepans, small offset palette knife handy (or the back of a dessert spoon), digital thermometer (optional but useful and recommended).


*Andrew has recommended a digital thermometer (though this is optional and if you don't have one, Andrew will help you judge this as best as possible) - though if you'd like one delivered such as the one in the photo at the top of the page, please select the relevant ticket option.

**You'll also need a 20cm (8 inch) square loose-bottomed tin (or you could use a similar rectangular tin with the same area, such as 9 x 7 inch), so if you'd like one of those delivered such as the one in the photo at the top of the page, please select the relevant ticket option.


Ingredients Required:

For the shortbread base:

135g plain flour, 40g caster (superfine) sugar & 95g soft unsalted butter, cubed


For the caramel:

150g unsalted butter, 397g can sweetened condensed milk, 60g golden syrup (or corn syrup), 110g soft light brown sugar, ½ tsp salt, ½ tsp vanilla extract / vanilla bean paste.


For the chocolate layer:

150g good quality dark chocolate (50% cocoa or higher), 1 tbsp flavourless oil (sunflower, vegetable or coconut).
