About the Event
Join the brilliant Rosie Brandreth (GBBO semi-finalist from series 10) live from Oxford, UK who will guide you through baking delicate and classic financiers.
Rich and nutty browned butter cakes with a delicate crispy shell topped with a lightly whipped cream, 6 flavoured with lemon & raspberry and 6 flavoured with cherry & chocolate - a French classic.
The class is on Saturday 24th February at the following times:
9am PT / 11am CT / 12pm ET / 5pm UK GMT
We’ll start off the class with an introductory welcome and some background from Rosie's time on TV, before we ask you to put on your aprons and bake along as you watch Rosie demonstrate all the skills required to make your delicious recipe.
Our class will take around two hours as we bake our masterpieces, before you can tuck into the fruits of your labour all whilst hearing fantastic memories and stories from Rosie, Tickets are priced at £35 for individuals and £50 for groups of two or more that will join from the same household. Places are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled or altered after purchase. All guests will be emailed a link to the class following their booking.
Silicone baking mould with 12 rectangular cavities
Piping nozzles (two long or petal type nozzles)
Electric hand whisk or stand mixer with a whisk attachment
Piping bags x 2
For the sponge mix:
60g (4 tbsp) unsalted butter
75g (⅔ cup) icing/powdered sugar
60g (½ cup) ground almonds/almond four and 30g (3 ½ tbsp) plain/all-purpose flour*
120g egg whites (approx. 4 large (XL in US) eggs)
Zest 1 lemon
12 raspberries (fresh or frozen)
1 tsp cocoa powder
*For a nut-free version, use 90g (⅔ cup) plain/all-purpose flour
For the toppings:
300ml (1 ¼ cup) double/heavy cream
3 tbsp icing/powdered sugar
1 tsp kirsch (or cherry juice)
Zest 1 lemon
Gold leaf (optional)
25g (~3 tbsp) dark/bitter sweet chocolate
6 morello cherries (ideally with stalks)
Red edible glitter

Please do check junk email just in case you don't spot it arrive!
