Join us in welcoming a new member of the Bake with a Legend family: the awesome Lottie Bedlow (GBBO contestant series 11) will be teaching you how to make her scrumptious Strawberry Shortcake Roll. A beautifully soft Swiss roll sponge filled with a creamy strawberry & cream cheese filling and decorated with cookie crumbs and a white chocolate drizzle.
The class is on Saturday 27th April 2023 and takes place at the following times:
10am PT / 12pm CT / 1pm ET / 6pm UK
The class will take around one hour.
This will give you a sample of what a full length class with Bake With A Legend entails whilst making a delicious treat. This class will be great for all the family so do invite all your friends and family to sign up - it's completely FREE.
All you need is access to Zoom via a computer, an iPad or a phone and you'll be connected! We’ll start off the class with an introductory welcome and some background from Lottie's time on TV, before we ask you to put on your aprons & bake along as you watch Lottie demonstrate all the skills required to make this delicious bake.
Please note this class will be taught in a webinar format and will likely have several hundred people joining us, unlike our normal classes, which are restricted to around twenty. Registration is essential and the only way to get an invite link to this class.
Swiss roll tin or flat-bottomed baking tray, about 24cm x 34cm (9 ½ inches x 13 ½ inches)
Stand mixer or electric whisk
Unsalted butter, for greasing
4 large (XL in US) eggs
100g (½ cup) caster/superfine sugar
100g (¾ cup) self-raising flour, sifted
225g (1 cup) cream cheese*
40g (⅓ cup) icing/powdered sugar
1 tbsp vanilla bean paste
300g (~ 2 cups) fresh strawberries, chopped
75g (~½ cup) biscuits/cookies**, crushed into crumbs
50g (~ ⅓ cup) white chocolate, broken into pieces
*Philadelphia brand full fat cream cheese is a reliable brand and widely available
**Feel free to use whatever biscuits/cookies you’d like but Digestive biscuits (UK) or Graham Crackers (USA) are ideal
