Jane's Soda Bread & Homemade Butter - Free Webinar

Join the brilliant Jane Beedle (GBBO Finalist, series 7) live from Kent, UK who will teach you the skills you need to master her delicious Soda Bread and Butter!

The class starts at 8am PT / 11am ET / 4pm UK on Saturday 2nd July 2022 and will take around one hour. This will give you a sample of what a full length class with Bake With A Legend entails whilst making a delicious treat. This one, will be great for all the family. Do invite all your friends and family to sign up - it's completely FREE.

All you need is access to Zoom via a computer, an iPad or a phone and you'll be connected! We’ll start off the class with an introductory welcome and some background from Howard's time on TV, before we ask you to put on your aprons & bake along as you watch Howard demonstrate all the skills required to make this favourite treat of his. 

Please note this class will be taught in a webinar format and will likely have several hundred people joining us, unlike our normal classes, which are restricted to just twenty. Registration is essential and the only way to get an invite link to this class.

Equipment:

Soda Bread:

· Bowl

· Spoon

· Scales

· Baking sheet

· Non stick paper 

· Knife

Butter:

· Bowl

· Electric hand whisk OR Balloon whisk and very strong arms!

Ingredients:

Soda Bread:

· 320ml Milk whole or skimmed – you can use buttermilk if you prefer

· 1 lemon Juice only (omit if using buttermilk)

· 100g Walnuts

· 200g White bread flour

· 300g Plain white flour

· 1 ½ tsp Salt

· 1 tsp Bicarbonate of soda

· 1 ½ tsp Baking powder

· 150g Extra mature cheddar – grated (use parmesan if you prefer)

· 1 – 1 ½ tsp Dried thyme

For the Butter:

· 300ml Double cream

· Salt Optional
