About the Event

Join the brilliant Jane Beedle (GBBO Finalist, series 7) live from Kent, UK for her first online class, who will teach you the skills you need to master her fantastic Orange and Spiced Chai Latte Cake! 

The class starts at 5pm UK on Saturday 27th November 2021. We’ll start off the class with an introductory welcome and some background from Jane's time on TV, before we ask you to put on your aprons & bake along as you watch Jane demonstrate all the skills required to make Jane's delicious treat.

Our class will take around 2 hours as we bake our masterpieces, before you can tuck into the fruits of your labour all whilst hearing fantastic memories and stories from Jane,Tickets are priced at £35 for individuals and £50 for groups of two or more that will join from the same household.

Places are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled or altered after purchase. All classes are subject to a minimum number of six attendees signing up. If the minimum number is not met, we will inform those who have purchased a place no later than 48 hours before the class, and will arrange a full refund.

All guests will be emailed a link to the class following their booking.


Food Processor / Blender  

Electric or Hand-Held Mixer Baking Beans

23cm (9 inch) Spring Form Cake Tin – greased and lined, no need to line the sides

Empty Baked Bean Tin (or other tin) – greased and wrapped in baking paper

You can make a standard 23cm (9 inch) cake tin into a ring tin by placing an empty baked bean tin half filled with baking beans in the centre of the tin, it is wrapped in baking paper so it will come out cleanly. If you don’t want a ring this mixture will fit into an 8” cake tin, it may take a little longer to bake.


For the Cake:

2 Large Oranges   

2 Star Anise

1 Cinnamon Stick  

2 Cardamon Pods

2 Cloves   

250g (1 cup) Unsalted Butter, softened

100g (½ cup) Soft Brown Sugar  

150g ( ¾ cups) Caster Sugar (plus extra for Syrup)

250g (1 ½ cups + 1 tbsp) Self-Raising Flour*  

2 ½ tsp Baking Powder

50g ( ½ cup minus 1 tbsp) Ground Almonds  

4 Large Eggs, lightly beaten**

50g (8 tbsp + 1 tsp) Spice Chai Latte Powder (I use Drink me Chai)

1tsp Almond Extract

For the Icing:

4tbsp Whole or Semi-Skinned Milk  

150g (1 1/3 cups) Icing Sugar

For the Decoration:

Candied Orange Slices 

Cinnamon Sticks

Star Anise


Glitter (of course)

*If using cups, gently spoon flour into measuring cup. Do not pack in.

**Large Egg in UK = XL Egg in US
