About the Event

Join the brilliant Jane Beedle (GBBO finalist from series 7) live from Kent, UK who will guide you through baking the second of our GBBO Mystery classes from 2023's Bake Off, where we will teach you the signature challenge from week 2 of this year's show: Walnut Whip Marshmallow Biscuits.

The class is on Sunday 8th October at the following times:

9am PT / 11am CT / 12pm ET / 5pm UK BST

We’ll start off the class with an introductory welcome and some background from Jane's time on TV, before we ask you to put on your aprons and bake along as you watch Jane demonstrate all the skills required to make your delicious recipe.

Our class will take around two hours as we bake our masterpieces, before you can tuck into the fruits of your labour all whilst hearing fantastic memories and stories from Jane, Tickets are priced at £35 for individuals and £50 for groups of two or more that will join from the same household. Places are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled or altered after purchase. All guests will be emailed a link to the class following their booking.

For the shortbread:

150g (1 cup + 2 tbsp) Plain/All-Purpose flour 

50g (¼ cup) Caster/superfine Sugar

25g (2 tbsp) Soft brown sugar  

4 tsp Cornflour/corn starch

½ tsp Cinnamon 

120g (½ cup) butter, cubed (1 cm/ ½ inch)

50g (~ ½ cup) Finely chopped Walnuts

For the coffee gel: (optional)

200ml (¾ cup + 2 tbsp) Strong coffee  

Sugar to taste

3g (~1 ½ tsp) Agar Agar

For the marshmallow:

125ml (½ cup) Water  

24g (~2 ½ tbsp) Powdered gelatine

60ml (¼ cup) Water  

330g (1 2/3 cups) Caster/superfine sugar

240g (¾ cup) Glucose or corn syrup  

1 tsp Vanilla extract

½ tsp Cinnamon 

50g (~ ½ cup) Very finely chopped walnuts

For assembly and decoration:

12 Walnut halves 

20g (~ 3 tbsp) Walnuts finely chopped

400g (~ 2 ½ cups) Dark/bittersweet Chocolate 

100g (~ ⅔ cup) White chocolate
