About the Event

Join the brilliant Jane Beedle (GBBO Finalist, series 7) live from Kent, UK who will guide you through baking a traditional English bake, the Bakewell Tart. In this class Jane will teach you to bake your very home shortcrust pastry, before filling the tarts with homemade frangipane and raspberry jam. This is the perfect class for anyone looking to bake some English classics.

The class starts at 5pm UK on Sunday 28th March 2021. We’ll start off the class with an introductory welcome and some background from Jane's time on TV, before we ask you to put on your aprons and bake along as you watch Jane demonstrate all the skills required to make Jane's delicious treats.

Our class will take around two hours as we bake our masterpieces, before you can tuck into the fruits of your labour all whilst hearing fantastic memories and stories from Jane, Tickets are priced at £35 for individuals and £50 for groups of two or more that will join from the same household. Places are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled or altered after purchase. All guests will be emailed a link to the class following their booking.

For the pastry:

300g plain flour, plus extra for rolling out (gluten free flour plus 1 ½ tsp xanthan gum)

180g Salted butter – cubed

50g Caster sugar

1 large egg – lightly beaten

For the jam:

200g Raspberries – fresh or frozen

200g Caster sugar

Juice of half a lemon

For the frangipane:

120g Salted butter – softened

120g Caster sugar

2 large eggs

150g Ground almonds

1 tbs Cornflour

1 tsp Almond extract

Flaked almonds for topping

Icing sugar and a splash of milk for icing is using or icing sugar for dusting

Please do check junk email just in case you don't spot it arrive!
