About the Event
Join the brilliant Jane Beedle (GBBO Finalist, series 7) live from Kent, UK who will teach you the skills you need to master her delicious Babka and her Viennese Biscuit recipes.
This class takes place on Saturday 25th November at the following times:
9am PT / 11am CT / 12pm ET / 5pm UK GMT

Jane's Babka is made from a rich dough with a delicious chocolate ganache filling, complete with iconic chocolate swirls from plaiting. During the class you will learn the skills to bake and shape this delicious bread, and in the downtime between proving and baking the Babka, Jane will walk you through the popular Viennese Biscuits. These buttery biscuits, delicately piped and dipped in chocolate are absolute perfection.
Bake With A Legend Online Classes are an interactive experience, where we limit group sizes to around 25 to ensure an intimate online setting. Not only do you have your celebrity baker teaching you, but you also have one of our brilliant Bake With A Legend hosts who will ensure the smooth running of your experience ensuring everyone is enjoying themselves.
If you need any help at any point during the class, you’ll be encouraged to raise your hand and your baker will be virtually joining you in your own kitchen in no time to assist you!
You’ll bake along in tandem with Jane, learning many tips and tricks a long the way as you perfect all the skills required to make Jane's delicious take on the classic Babka and indulgent Vienesse whirls. Jane will also be on hand to answer your questions, be those about baking or her experiences of being involved on such an iconic television show.
Tickets are priced at £35 for individuals and £50 for groups of two or more that will join from the same screen. Please note we can accept requests to move classes with two or more weeks notice prior to the class – any requests to do so, will incur a £5 administrative charge.
Once booked in, all guests will be emailed a full recipe and the zoom link required to join us for the class. Just in case you don’t spot it please check junk mail!

Large plastic bag that the baking sheet will fit in (a clean carrier bag will do)
8” or 9” springform cake tin, lightly greased
FOR THE VIENNESE BISCUITS:
135g (9 tbsp) Salted butter – softened
25g (¼ cup) Icing sugar/Powdered sugar
1 tsp Vanilla extract
145g (1 cup + 2 tbsp) Plain/All Purpose flour
150g (approx. 1 cup) Dark/Bittersweet chocolate
FOR THE BABKA DOUGH:
200g (just over ¾ cup) Milk
10g (1 tbsp + 1 tsp) Dried Instant yeast
1 tbs Caster sugar/Super fine sugar
200g (1 ½ cups) Strong plain /Bread flour
200g (1 ½ cups) Plain flour/ All Purpose flour
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Cinnamon
40g (3 ¼ tbsp) Caster/Super fine sugar
65g (4 ½ tbsp) Butter – very soft
1 Large (XL in US) egg – whisked
FOR THE GANACHE FILLING
(you can use Nutella instead)
150g (1 cup) Dark/Bittersweet chocolate
150g (2/3 cup) Double cream/ Heavy cream
TO ASSEMBLE: (optional)
100g (~ ¾ cup) toasted hazelnuts/pecans, chopped
100g (~ ¾ cup) Glace cherries/soaked dried cranberries
2 tbsp Honey, warmed
Extra nuts, chopped
Extra Glace cherries
Milk/water to make icing
