About the Event
Join the brilliant Jane Beedle (GBBO Finalist, series 7) live from Kent, UK who will guide you through baking her delicious Babka and her Viennese Biscuit recipes. Jane's Babka is made from a rich dough with a delicious chocolate ganache filling, complete with iconic chocolate swirls from plaiting. During the class you will learn the skills to bake and shape this delicious bread, and in the downtime between proving and baking the Babka, Jane will walk you through the popular Viennese Biscuits. These buttery biscuits, delicately piped and dipped in chocolate are absolute perfection.
The class starts at 5pm UK on Sunday 23rd May 2021. We’ll start off the class with an introductory welcome and some background from Jane's time on TV, before we ask you to put on your aprons and bake along as you watch Jane demonstrate all the skills required to make Jane's delicious treats.
Heavy baking sheet,
Non stick baking paper,
Large plastic bag that the baking sheet will fit in (a clean carrier bag will do),
Electric hand whisk (optional),

Medium open star nozzle,
FOR THE VIENNESE BISCUITS:
130g Salted butter - softened
25g Icing sugar/Powdered sugar
1 tsp Vanilla extract
145g Plain flour/All Purpose flour
150g Dark chocolate
FOR THE BABKA DOUGH:
14g Instant yeast
1 tbs Caster sugar/Super fine sugar
250g Strong plain flour/Bread flour
250g Plain flour/ All Purpose flour
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Cinnamon
50g Caster sugar/Super fine sugar
60g Butter – very soft
1 Large egg* – whisked
*1 UK Large Egg = 1 US Extra Large
FOR THE GANACHE FILLING
(you can use Nutella instead)
150g Dark chocolate
150g Double cream/ Heavy cream
TO ASSEMBLE: (optional)
30g Dark chocolate grated and or chopped pecans
FOR THE SYRUP:
100g Caster sugar/Super fine sugar
FOR THE ICING:
Sifted icing sugar and some milk or water
Our class will take around two hours as we bake our masterpieces, before you can tuck into the fruits of your labour all whilst hearing fantastic memories and stories from Jane, Tickets are priced at £35 for individuals and £50 for groups of two or more that will join from the same household. Places are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled or altered after purchase. All guests will be emailed a link to the class following their booking.

Upon booking, all guests will be emailed a link to the class with a full breakdown of ingredients and equipment as well as the method on the Monday proceeding their class. Please do check junk email just in case you don't spot it arrive!
