Join Howard Middleton (GBBO contestant from series 4) live from Sheffield who will teach you the skills you need to bake his delicious Sausage Rolls and homemade Chutney.
This class takes place on Sunday 28th April at the following times:
9am PT / 11am CT / 12pm ET / 5pm UK BST

This British Classic dates back to the early 19th Century and remains one of the most poplular British pastry snacks still today. Now you can join Howard who will share his tips and tricks to make this perfect treat! You'll make the most delicious puff pastry, either a tasty meaty or vegetarian filling and a perfect chutney to accompany it.
Bake With A Legend Online Classes are an interactive experience, where we limit group sizes to around 25 to ensure an intimate online setting. Not only do you have your celebrity baker teaching you, but you also have one of our brilliant Bake With A Legend hosts who will ensure the smooth running of your experience ensuring everyone is enjoying themselves.
If you need any help at any point during the class, you’ll be encouraged to raise your hand and your baker will be virtually joining you in your own kitchen in no time to assist you!
You’ll bake along in tandem with Howard, learning many tips and tricks a long the way as you perfect all the skills required to make Howard's classic English Sausage Rolls and homemade Chutney. Howard will also be on hand to answer your questions, be those about baking or his experiences of being involved on such an iconic television show.
Tickets are priced at £35 for individuals and £50 for groups of two or more that will join from the same screen. Please note we can accept requests to move classes with two or more weeks notice prior to the class – any requests to do so, will incur a £5 administrative charge.
Once booked in, all guests will be emailed a full recipe and the zoom link required to join us for the class. Just in case you don’t spot it please check junk mail!
Equipment:
Mixing bowls
Cling film
Rolling pin
Baking trays
Baking parchment
Large frying pan or skillet
Sharp knife
Pastry brush.
Ingredients:
For the Rough-Puff Pastry:
250g (2 cups) Strong White Bread flour (extra for rolling)
Pinch of Salt
100ml (½ cup) Cold Water
225g (1 cup) Chilled Unsalted Butter, Cubed
1sp Lemon Juice
For the Meaty Filling:
1sp Dried Mixed Herbs
Sundried Tomatoes, drained and chopped (optional)
400g (approx. 2 cup) Finely Minced Meat (pork, lamb, beef, chicken or filling of 400g of Sausages)
For the Vegetarian Filling:
Sundried Tomatoes, drained and chopped Chopped Chives or Spring Onions/ Scallions
100g (approx. 1 cup) of Grated Cheese Salt and Pepper
400g (approx. 2 cups) Cooked Starchy Vegetable (like Parsnip, Potato or Sweet Potato, Mashed)
To Finish:
1 Egg, Beaten
Poppy Seeds or Sesame Seeds (optional)
For the Chutney:
150ml (⅔ cups) of Wine or Cider Vinegar
60g (¼ cup) Brown Sugar
1 Small Red Onion, Peeled, Diced
3 Pears or Apples, Cored and Diced
½ tsp-1tsp Dried Mixed Spice (or Ginger and Cinnamon)
50g (⅓ cup) Raisins, Sultanas or Chopped Dried Apricots
