About the Event
Join Howard Middleton (GBBO contestant from series 4) live from Sheffield who will teach you the skills you need to bake the spring-time classic, Sticky Hot Cross Buns alongside his delicious Easter biscuits.
This class takes place on Sunday 9th April at the following times:
9am PT / 11am CT / 12pm ET / 5pm UK GMT

Bake With A Legend Online Classes are an interactive experience, where we limit group sizes to around 20 to ensure an intimate online setting. Not only do you have your celebrity baker teaching you, but you also have one of our brilliant Bake With A Legend hosts who will ensure the smooth running of your experience ensuring everyone is enjoying themselves.
If you need any help at any point during the class, you’ll be encouraged to raise your hand and your baker will be virtually joining you in your own kitchen in no time to assist you!
You’ll bake along in tandem with Howard, learning many tips and tricks a long the way as you perfect all the skills required to make Howard's Easter treats: Sticky Hot Cross Buns and Easter Biscuits. Howard will also be on hand to answer your questions, be those about baking or his experiences of being involved on such an iconic television show.
Tickets are priced at £35 for individuals and £50 for groups of two or more that will join from the same screen. Please note we can accept requests to move classes with two or more weeks notice prior to the class – any requests to do so, will incur a £5 administrative charge.
Once booked in, all guests will be emailed a full recipe and the zoom link required to join us for the class. Just in case you don’t spot it please check junk mail!

Ingredients for the Hot Cross Buns:
3tsp Fast Action / Quick Yeast
60ml (1/4 Cup) Warm Water
300g (2 1/3 Cups) Strong White Bread Flour
75ml (1/3 Cup) Milk
10g (1tbsp) Maple Syrup or Golden Syrup, extra glazing
15g (1tbsp) Caster / Superfine Sugar
25g (2tbsp) White Chocolate, roughly chopped
A Pinch of Salt
2 Large Eggs, beaten*
A Little Oil for Kneading
2 tbsp Plain Flour / All-Purpose Flour and a little water for the crosses
150g (1 Cup) Dried Fruits of your choice – dried apples, pears, apricots, prunes, raisins etc
¼ tsp Mixed Spices (Ginger / Nutmeg)
Ingredients for the Biscuits:
100g (3/4 Cup) Plain / All-Purpose Flour
40g (1/3 Cup) Rice Flour**
50g (1/3 Cup + 1tbsp) Icing / Powdered Sugar
Pinch of Salt
100g (7tbsp) Cold Unsalted Butter, Cubed
1 Large Egg, separated
50g (1/3 Cup) Currants
Grated Zest of 1 Unwaxed Lemon
Freshly grated Nutmeg
Granulated or Swedish Pearl Sugar
*UK Large Egg = US Extra-Large Egg
**Can use Cornmeal or more plain flour
