Join the brilliant Howard Middleton (GBBO, series 4) live from Sheffield who will teach you to create his delightful Easter Treat - Chocolate Chick Cookies.
The class starts at 11.30am PT / 1.30pm CT / 2.30pm ET / 7.30pm UK on Saturday 16th April 2022 and will take around one hour. This will give you a sample of what a full length class with Bake With A Legend entails whilst making a delicious treat. This one, will be great for all the family. Do invite all your friends and family to sign up - it's completely FREE.
All you need is access to Zoom via a computer, an iPad or a phone and you'll be connected! We’ll start off the class with an introductory welcome and some background from Howard's time on TV, before we ask you to put on your aprons & bake along as you watch Howard demonstrate all the skills required to make this favourite treat of his.
Please note this class will be taught in a webinar format and will likely have several hundred people joining us, unlike our normal classes, which are restricted to just twenty. Registration is essential and the only way to get an invite link to this class.
Flat Baking Sheet / Trays
Heatproof Bowl and Saucepan
Small Icing Bag (optional)
Cocktail Stick / Toothpick / Wooden Skewer
For the Cookie Dough:
125g (approx. ¾ cup) Dark Chocolate
125g (9 tbsp) Unsalted Butter
125g (1 cup) Plain Flour
50g (⅓ cup) Cocoa Powder
125g (½ cup) Demerara Sugar (or 100g ½ cup of Caster Sugar)
1tsp Bicarbonate of Soda
A Pinch of Salt (optional)
1 Large Egg*
1tsp Vanilla Paste or Extract
25g (approx. 3 tbsp) Cocoa Nibs or Chocolate Chips of choice
100g (approx. ⅔ cup) Cadbury’s Chocolate Mini Eggs or candy Robin Eggs or M&Ms
For the Chicks:
Orange (or yellow and red) gel or paste food colouring
2tsp Icing / Powdered Sugar
Black Food colouring / a little melted dark chocolate
75g (approx. ⅓ cup) Yellow ‘ready to roll’ Icing, modelling fondant or marzipan**
*UK Large Egg = US Extra-Large Egg
**If you can’t get yellow, use white and colour it with yellow gel or paste food colouring
