About the Event
Join the brilliant Dan Beasley Harling (GBBO, series 9) live from London who will guide you through making delicious vegan macaron. These macaron are all created using aquafaba, an interesting technique with new skills to learn. In this class we will be flavouring the macaron with delicious fillings of raspberry jelly and a vegan rose buttercream.
We’ll start off the class with an introductory welcome and some background from Dan's time on TV, before we ask you to put on your aprons & bake along as you watch Dan demonstrate all the skills required to make this favourite treat. Our class will take around 2 hours as we bake our masterpieces, before you can tuck into the fruits of your labour all whilst hearing fantastic memories and stories from Dan.
Tickets are priced at £35 for individuals and £50 for groups of two or more that will join from the same household. Places are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled or altered after purchase. All guests will be emailed a link to the class on the Monday prior.
400g tin of chickpeas in water
120g ground almonds*
120g icing sugar
100g caster sugar
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
red gel/paste food colouring
(*you will need ~150g of ground almonds to ensure that you have enough finely ground pieces)
125g Raspberries (frozen are fine)
175g caster sugar
1 tsp of lemon juice
50g vegan baking block (we use Stork)
100g icing sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/8 tsp rose extract
