Join the brilliant Dan Beasley Harling (GBBO, series 9) live from London Dan will teach you the skills you need to nail his beautiful Kransekake Christmas Tree.

Kransekake is a Scandinavian dish, often eaten at Christmas, who's name translates to 'wreath cake.' We're taking it one step further and making this festive favourite into a 3D Christmas Tree and Dan will also show you how to make some delicious candied peel chocolates, as well as some spun sugar caramel tinsel. A perfect showstopper for your Holiday table!

The class takes place on Saturday 23rd December 2022 at the following times:

9am PT / 11am CT / 12pm ET / 5pm UK

We’ll start off the class with an introductory welcome and some background from Dan's time on TV, before we ask you to put on your aprons & bake along as you watch Dan demonstrate all the skills required to make this favourite treat. Our class will take around 2 hours as we bake our masterpieces, before you can tuck into the fruits of your labour all whilst hearing fantastic memories and stories from Dan.

Tickets are priced at £35 for individuals and £50 for groups of two or more that will join from the same household. Places are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled or altered after purchase.

Equipment:

3 x mixing bowl

digital scales 

2 x sieve

cling film 

ruler 

2 x lined baking sheets

2 x wire rack 

2 x saucepan 

piping bag

heatproof bowl 

baking parchment

Ingredients:

For the Kransekake dough:

250g (2 cups) ground almonds/almond flour 

250g (2 cups) icing/powdered sugar, sifted

2 egg whites  

1/2 tsp almond extract

green food colouring

For the Candied peel chocolates:

200g (1 cup) granulated sugar  

200g (approx. 1 ¼ cups) dark chocolate (54% cocoa)

4 navel oranges (or other dessert orange)

For the Kransekake decoration:

1 egg white  

150g (1 1/3 cups) icing/powdered sugar

colourful sweets/candy  

250g (1 ¼ cups) granulated sugar
