About the Event

The third in our special series of classes that will be the perfect accompaniment as you enjoy the 2021 series of The Great British Bake Off! Every week, one of our bakers will teach you Dan's Focaccia and Ciabatta Breadsticks! In this 2 hour class you’ll gain confidence handling high hydration doughs, and learn how to make two classic Italian breads. Firstly, a delicious fast focaccia, studded with roasted garlic, caramelised onions, tomatoes and rosemary. And in between proves, we’ll also find time to make some delicious feta and olive ciabatta breadsticks, and a refreshing tzatziki dip. Come hungry!

For our third class, join the brilliant Dan Beasley-Harling (GBBO, series 9) live from London, UK who will guide you through baking his Focaccia and Ciabatta Breadsticks from Episode 3 of GBBO 2021.

The class starts at 5pm UK on Sunday 10th October 2021. We’ll start off the class with a warm welcome and some background from Dan's time on TV, before we ask you to put on your aprons and bake along as you watch Dan demonstrate all the skills required to make his delicious treats.

Our class will take around two hours as we bake our masterpieces, before you can tuck into the fruits of your labour all whilst hearing fantastic memories and stories from Dan, Tickets are priced at £35 for individuals and £50 for groups of two or more that will join from the same household. Places are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled or altered after purchase. All guests will be emailed a link to the class following their booking.

Mixing Bowls x3

9”x13” Traybake Pan

Bench Scraper

Aluminium Foil

Baking Trays

Coarse Grater

Fine Mesh Sieves

Wire Cooling Racks

Stand Mixer with dough hook (optional, but preferable)

Ingredients:

For the Dough:

800g (3 1/2 Cups) Warm Water ~38C / 100F (temp of a warm bath)

40g (2tbsp) Instant Yeast

1kg (8 Cups*) Strong White Bread Flour, plus extra

20g (1tbsp + 1/2tsp) Salt

For the Ciabatta:

120g (1/2 Cup + 3tbsp) Feta

50g (1/3 Cup) Black Olives

Semolina (optional)

For the Focaccia:

1 Large Bulb of Garlic

1 Large Red Onion

100g (2/3 Cups) Cherry Tomatoes

Rosemary

Olive Oil

Sea Salt

For the Tzatziki:

½ Cucumber

400g (1 2/3 Cups) Greek Yoghurt

2 Gloves Garlic, minced

2tbsp Olive Oil

1tbsp White Wine Vinegar

A Handfull of Fresh Mint, or Dill

Salt to taste
