About the Event
Join the brilliant Andrew Smyth (GBBO, series 7) live from Derby, England on Sunday 27th June at 5pm UK who will teach you his go to recipe for the all time favourite Millionaire's Shortbread, complete with his recipe for a extra thick and delicious caramel layer.
We’ll start off the class with an introductory welcome and some background from Andrew's time on TV, before we ask you to put on your aprons and bake along as you watch Andrew demonstrate all the skills required to make this lovely treat. Our class will take around 1h 45 minutes as we bake our masterpieces, before you can tuck into the fruits of your labour all whilst hearing fantastic memories and stories from Andrew.
Tickets are priced at £35 for individuals and £50 for groups of two or more that will join from the same household. Places are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled or altered after purchase. All classes are subject to a minimum number of six attendees signing up. If the minimum number is not met, we will inform those who have purchased a place no later than 24 hours before the class, and will arrange a full refund.
All guests will be emailed a link to the class following their booking. Please note our classes are very much interactive and are limited to 17 participants. Andrew will ensure he gives you feedback as we go whilst everyone will be encouraged to ask questions.

20cm/8inch square loose bottomed baking tin**
Offset palette knife***
*Optional but this would be useful and recommended.
**Or you could use a similar rectangular tin with the same area (e.g. 9x7 inch).
***If you don’t have one you can use the back of a dessert spoon.
FOR THE SHORTBREAD:
125g (or 1 cup) plain/all-purpose flour
40g (or 1/4 cup) caster sugar/superfine sugar
95g (or 6 ½ tbsp) soft unsalted butter, cubed
FOR THE CARAMEL:
150g (or 10 tbsp) unsalted butter
60g (or 3 tbsp) golden syrup/corn syrup
397g (or 14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
110g (or ½ cup + 1 tbsp) soft light brown sugar
½ tsp salt
½ tsp vanilla extract/vanilla bean paste
FOR THE CHOCOLATE LAYER:
150g dark chocolate (50% cocoa or higher)
1 tbsp flavourless oil (sunflower/vegetable/canola)
