introduction

Bake With A Legend (BWAL) is an events company which organises baking classes led by former contestants from The Great British Bake Off TV Show. Since April 2020, the vast majority (and the ongoing focus) of the business has been centred on virtual baking classes and we have grown our offering significantly in this period. We need a brilliant creative marketing orientated candidate with experience, to join us.

 

We are seeking a full time Marketing Manager, who will oversee all marketing activities of the company. The candidate may also be required to help with some of the key operational tasks, reporting to the Founder.

 

company Background

Set up in London in late 2016, BWAL is the sister company to Play With A Legend (PWAL) and Bear Faced Talent, which arrange Events, media and commercial work for, former footballers and whilst the vast majority of work will be for BWAL there may be occasional support required for the other companies.  

 

The events we arrange are a variety of private events for occasions such as birthdays and team building events whilst we also offer a wide variety of virtual public classes which customers from anywhere in the world can purchase tickets to attend. Our customers are predominantly split between the UK and the USA. We have over 230 5* reviews on Google and pride ourselves on delivering an outstanding experience.

 

Location

The successful applicant will initially work remotely, whilst we assess the ongoing COVID situation. We aim to return to a London office by mid 2022, but we are willing to be flexible for the right candidate on their circumstances. Applicants needn’t be in London.

 

Main Duties and responsibilities

  • Development and execution of a social media strategy, optimising reach and scale by matching the right content with the right platform.

  • Setting up and executing effective paid social media campaigns across the relevant social media platforms.

  • Managing our social media channels (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram).

  • Ongoing website management.

  • Oversee digital marketing campaigns, including SEM, Google Ads, Facebook Ads and Email Marketing.

  • Develop all relevant marketing channels.

  • Writing and producing marketing materials and content for the company.

 

Operational

  • Interaction with customers and our third party clients who sell our events.

  • Event Organisation.

  • Handling basic accounts.

  • Hosting events when required.

Skills and competencies sought:

  • Strong communication skills and an ability to build rapport. 

  • Driven, self-motivated and enthusiastic.

  • Strong attention to detail.  

  • Comfortable hosting events.

  • Good workload management.

  • Computer literate and proficient in standard office applications Word, Excel and Outlook as well as a great understanding of social media platforms Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram.

  • Experience of running and optimising Google Ads, Facebook Ads and SEM campaigns.

  • Solid knowledge of website analytic tools.

  • Experience using A/B testing.

  • Proficiency with design programmes such as Photoshop or inDesign.

  • Comfortable handling basic accounts.

  • Strong telephone manner.

  • Ability to communicate to a wide range of audiences.

  • Great time keeping skills.

  • Have a “can-do” attitude with an ability to work effectively within a start-up environment and understand that you will need to have the ability to be hands-on, and open to assisting the team where needs be.

 

our requirements:

  • Degree Educated.

  • Relevant experience and proficiency in digital marketing campaigns.

miscellaneous:

  • Required to act as an ambassador for the company.

  • Using own initiative to organise various tasks in order of importance.

  • Ability to work independently. 

  • Demonstrating accountability and ownership.

  • Interest in baking will certainly be beneficial, but is not essential.

 

hours of work:

  • As a guide, our standard working hours are 9.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday, but we can be flexible for the right candidate. With notice, you may occasionally be asked to work at the weekend or on occasional midweek evenings.

 

candidate and pay:

  • We are expecting to offer a salary between £24-30k depending on your experience with a commission structure introduced after a probationary period.
